Biological Science Technician (Aquatics)

Duties:
Implements established natural resource management projects, particularly park-wide aquatic resource and water quality monitoring. Collects aquatic samples using boat, canoe, and kayak. Conduct sample measurements and lab analyses. Evaluates quality assurance compliance. Evaluates observed resource conditions and problems and makes preliminary determination on the cause of problems. Utilizes a variety of computer programs to compile, retrieve, analyze and report data and other resource management information. Maintain and organize computer databases. Installs, operates, calibrates, and maintains resource management equipment. Temporary positions not-to-exceed 1039 regular hours in a service year may be terminated sooner or extended depending on management needs. All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-01/13/2020-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40
hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience demonstrates that you are able to perform successfully the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Specialized experience is leading or coordinating field work in natural resource management, bacteriological water quality testing, or experience following water sampling and laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) for processing water samples. Experience collecting field data and ensuring adequate quality control of data collected, providing a preliminary assessment and classification of the information. Evaluates observed conditions and problems, and makes preliminary determinations on the case of problems noted. Graduate education or an internship meets the specialized experience required above GS-5 only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. Internships not completed as a part of your educational curriculum, and recorded on your transcript, will not be considered qualifying as education. However, it may be considered qualifying if it meets the criteria for specialized education. You must include hours per week worked on your resume.-OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of an internship or one full year (18 semester hours or equivalent) of graduate level study that directly relates to the position such biology, microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, geology, watershed management, or other directly related subject matter. If you are qualifying under education, you must include transcripts.-OR- Successful completion of a combination of specialized experience and education may be considered qualifying. Only graduate level education education is creditable as specialized experience. Total combination must equal 100%. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
